General Information of Joint Programs of USST
|
With approval of former Ministry of Machinery Industry, in 1995 USST began to establish 4 international joint colleges with Syracuse University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Queens College of the City University of New York and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Among them three were degree study for undergraduates and graduates, one was non-degree study. There were total 7 specialties. | 1998, 4 joint programs for degree study and 3 joint programs for non-degree study had been established in 2000 with approval of Shanghai Municipal Educational Committee. In July 2003, Shanghai Medical Apparatus and Instruments College and Shanghai Publishing and Printing Training School were put under administration of USST, so 2 more joint programs for degree study were added. So far USST has total 12 joint programs (specialties), involving 9 foreign cooperation universities. Among those joint programs, there are 8 degree study programs for undergraduates, 2 junior college programs, 2 non-degree study programs (including one program for graduates). Till March 2006 the number of involved students is 1853, about 14% of the total students on the campus. |
| The demonstrative business management project in our university, sponsored by the former Ministry of Machinery Industry and Sloan School of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has held 7 training classes for over 150 advanced managers and advanced management personnel from mechanical and other middle and large-scaled enterprises, set the precedent to cooperate with the best university in the world. |
