Last Friday, the 14th of April , was the “Karfreitag” of this year ,a German feast day before the Easter weekend. In memory of that Robin and Jing gave a presentation about the religious background of Easter. In the bible the Easter story starts with Jesus arriving at Jerusalem having the last dinner with his disciples, got crossed, dead and was reincarnated after three days. We explained the connections between these biblical events and the German feast days last weekend.

Two interns explain Easter

Afterwards non-biblical topics about how Germans are connected with Easter nowadays, such as the Easter rabbit, egg painting, or hiding sweets in the garden for children were explained.

Subsequently the students painted plastic eggs themselves and we together decorated those two bushes in front of the German Culture Centre with the artists. In the end, a group picture was taken and every student took his or her own egg home.
